Happy Holidays! Give Yourself a Gift
24th December, 2008 - Posted by L. John Mason -
Happy Holidaze…..
If the weather and the economy have not gotten to you, congratulations. (You are a stronger person than me.)
I am preparing to fight my way, over snowy, icey roads, to a Christmas Party and I am emotionally a “white knuckle” participant… I plan to breathe a lot and conserve available energy and emotions… Easier said than done…
Please take good care of yourself. Control your expectations. Do not over commit (maybe this is too late in saying this.) Try to not “over-do” your caffeine, alcohol, and food binging… Be nice, or at least censor what you are thinking before speaking…and then say something positive. Take regular breaks to “ground out.” AND, try to remember the “spirit” of the holidays. (We are trying to get through the season and enjoy the company of family and friends that you have tried to avoid all the rest of the year (and did so more or less successfully.))
After Christmas and Hanukka, consider working on your yearly goals for 2009. This planning can help make 2009 a better year than most of us experienced in 2008. Plan your steps with care, so you can succeed in meeting your goals. Make sure that you put “SELF-CARE” on your to do list, and actually follow through.
If I do not see you in the next week, then I will see you next year!
With Peace and Gratitude
